Casino Gambling

Going out for a night to a casino? Firstly, only take as much as you can afford to lose (of course). But otherwise here is a short breakdown of the three most popular games.

Blackjack - The game of 21 has a great history and there is far more to it than most people think. The game got the casino's on the run during the 1960's and 1970's as more and more people discovered that they could make money playing. Blackjack can still theoretically be beaten today, but unfortunately it is much harder than it was. Learn basic strategy.

Poker - in its most common format (Texas Hold 'em), is a fantastic card game. In a casino you can normally play a 'cash' game or a 'tournament' game. If you are a beginner start with a tournament game as in this type of game you only risk a fixed amount of money. Also it can take a lifetime to get skilled at poker so take it easy and only play in a low stakes game if you are a novice, and read some books, they could save you a lot of money. Oh and don't play 'casino poker' where you play your hand against the dealer. It's not a patch on the real thing!

Roulette - Don't do it! The game can never be beaten. As certain as the sun rising in the morning, the more money you play on roulette the more money you will lose. It can be fun for a short while but never be fooled into thinking that you can beat the game.
