Tennis Bets

From a betting point of view tennis seems fairly straight forward. But in fact there are plenty of factors that can influence the result.

Always take note of the surface (clay, hard, grass and carpet courts) the matches are played on and the size of the arena and whether the court in indoors or outdoors (with the latter check the weather!). Players can vary considerably in their ability on different surfaces and conditions.

If you are new to tennis betting start with the bigger tournaments. Grand slam tournament results are generally more consistent. Remember also that players are often playing for ranking points and a player on a 'comeback' may have that extra motivation.

There are many types of bets available. You can bet on the outright (tournament or single match) result, the final set score, the first set winner, the total number of games/sets and much more. Stick with the simpler bets at first and always shop around for the best odds.

Check the bookmakers rules regarding injury forcing a player to retire. Most bookies offer a 'match completed' rule where the bet becomes void unless the match is completed.
